Traffic and infrastructure challenges must be addressed proactively. I propose hiring a full-time grant writer (funded by the mayoral salary I would forego) to pursue state and federal funding opportunities, reducing the need for tax increases.  The shear amount of funds needed to address our infrastructure challenges will not be obtained from a single source.  We must be creative in seeking out sources of funding as well as answers to our unique challenges, such as support for big ideas, like the Belmont Trolley Project and its board.
